We are a team of four RAF Pilots with a collective ambition of competing in (and trying to win) the world's toughest endurance challenge. Inspired by resilience triumphing over adversity in the lives of desperately ill children; we want to use this once in a lifetime opportunity to test our own mental and physical resilience, and help make dreams come true in the process.

In 2014, Wing Commander Phil Holdcroft’s daughter, Isla, was diagnosed with leukaemia at just 22 months old. Seven years later, Isla has now been given the all-clear and is a thriving eight-year-old.

To mark this milestone, Phil, Chris, Si and Sonny will be spending their Christmas rowing; two hours on, two hours off, day and night, in the @atlanticcampaigns  @talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. With every gruelling stroke, they'll be raising funds for Starlight to provide play for seriously ill children.

Starlight supported Isla and the Holdcrofts throughout her treatment and recovery. We use the power of play to make the experience of illness and treatment better for seriously ill children and their families.

Ian met up with the guys before departure what an evening with team Atlantic Flyers. These 4 incredible guys have made Geoffrey their 5th crew member to embark on an incredible journey, 40 days at sea, rowing across the Atlantic. The guys have flown out this morning to la Gomera in preparation of their launch on the 12th of December.

They are doing this in aid of the Starlight Children's Foundation. Please follow their incredible journey on their Facebook page Atlantic Flyers or visit their website https://www.atlanticflyers2021.com/

Please join me in congratulating the team members below on their unbelievable journey:
Wg Cdr Phil Holdcroft
Flt Lt Si Berry
Wg Cdr Sonny Roe
Flt Lt Chris Carrington-Smith

Many thanks to Squadron Prints and RAF Coningsby and UK Spotters Group.
